High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. Great food and nice atmospheres. Will definitely eat here again. My boyfriend and I tried the special (lamb). I don't normally eat lamb but they are cooked great here

This is our favorite date night/special occasion restaurant! The staff is friendly, and the food is amazing. Portion sizes are enough for lunch the next day. Our favorite is the Mediterranean Chicken, which is flavorful, juicy and absolutely delicious! The garlic sauce is not overpowering, and always tastes fresh.

I normally try to take a variety of pictures when I go somewhere where the food is either really good or really bad. However, I was with a group of people at the Lebanese Grill and we were so focused on the food that it was gone before I could whip out my phone to take any pictures. The portions at this restaurant are huge. Huge. As in I can throw down some food, my husband can throw down, and all of our Detroit friends can totally eat too. So when the four people who we were with said that they recommended the sampler for two, I agreed and asked them what else we were going to order. My friend insisted that it was enough, as long as we ordered a fattoush salad or lentil bean soup for each person. I agreed, with the stipulation that we order more if we were still hungry. I had the lentil soup, which was the best lentil soup that I've ever had. Ever. It was creamy and thick and tasted amazing with the warm pita bread. We had hummus and tabbouli. The tabbouli was fresh and the hummus was smooth. When we got to the main platter, I understood why they said that the sampler for two was enough. There was a huge bed of my favorite kind of rice, shwarma on either side, chunks of chicken, a sausage, grilled vegetables, grape leaves, and falafel. We had two sides of garlic sauce which everyone devoured, and our server kept bringing out the hot pita bread. We ate until I resented wearing jeans and there was still food leftover. It blew my mind. My husband was a huge fan of the falafel, said it was the best he'd ever had anywhere. He gave into temptation and ordered some baklava for the table. I was so full so I didn't have any, but those who ate it loved it. All in all, the Lebanese Grill made me home sick for Detroit, where I lived for much of my early to late 20's. I live near Chicago now, where there's definitely great food, but I can't find any place that cooks up quite as good middle eastern food as the Lebanese Grill does. Treasure it, Detroit. I know I would.

I took my wife here because I found a groupon for 25% off. I told them I had the groupon when I arrived ordered our food which was ok. when we went to pay our bill I was told they made a big deal about me using the groupon the manager was yelling in the back about me using it and was using foul language. In the end he didn't accept it and I was told to pay and leave. I've never been treated in such a way at any restaurant. So if you bought a groupon here just return it because they only created it to get you in the door. If you try to use it they will look down on you. I'll never eat here again.

    - Fantastic Falafel! - Super Shawarma! - Great Garlic Sauce! As far as Lebanese Food goes, this place tops my lists. I've always been a fan of the Shelby Township location of Lebanese Grill, and when I found out a new location was opening close to home ma

I have been there couple times. This place has been there about a year. Inside is clean. The servers were kind. They offered me a good tasty salad with bread and garlic sauce. I had lamb chop twice. The price is a little high but good taste. I tried dessert. Wow so sweet, I meant it was too sweet for me. I couldn't eat more

Excellent service from Lisa G. Her suggestion of the special was perfect. Lamb with spinach was delish! Tender with rich & savory flavors. Finished the meal with Turkish coffee. Only wish they served wine at this location.

Kousa was outstanding. Never expected to see this on the menu. Fresh, hot and delicious. The flavors were ethnic and totally Lebanese. I hope to see this one The menu again soon.

Well, apparantly there are two Lebanese Grills and one is holding he opthers website hostage, so you better double check pricing and availability and make sure you are getting what you think you are getting. That being said, the food is top notch, the service was excellent, my only complaint was that the amount of Tabbouli you get with the Combo's is really pitiful. The amounts of grape leaves is a little low too. But other than that, well worth it.

I tried this place for lunch today and was very unimpressed. I ordered their meat shawarma lunch combo. Although the portion size was very large, the quality of the meat tasted so bad that I could barely eat it. Maybe I'll give them another go and try a chicken dish but for now, I don't feel like the price was equal to the quality of food.

I've never had a bad experience here. The service dining in and carryout has always been so friendly and kind. The food is amazing as always too! food always comes with choice of soup or salad. Great portions. Their smoothies are always fresh too.

I would say third best in area for lebanese food.. Shish palace then la shish then here. Vrry small lunch portion on meals compared to the others for the same price. Chicken was ok but not spectacular. Overall it was a middle of the road experience after you have tried the other two.

Food is pretty good like most Mediterranean places I've been to. But sometimes I feel like some of the staff always gives me strange looks when I come in looking a certain way. (i.e.: before work, after gym) I go to a restaurant to eat, not to feel uncomfortable.

Although my first visit was not great, AWESOME customer service has won me over. I walked in for carry-out for my first experience here. I asked the girl taking my order, repeatedly if everything I ordered was gluten-free. She assured me it was. I ordered 2 chicken shawarma dinners, with salads, sautéed mushrooms, and falafel. I waited about 15-20 minutes and left with my food. When I got home, I was unpacking the food an noticed that my mushrooms were missing. I called back and the girl immediately recognized me over the phone, admitted to the mistake with the mushrooms and took my name and said I would get free mushrooms on my next visit. Okay, fine. I hang up the phone Next, I open up the Shawarma dinner and the "gluten-free" rice has noodles in it. NOT AT ALL GLUTEN FREE. So, I call back. She answers the phone again. I ask, again, is she SURE the rice is gluten free and she says yes. I ask her to please ask someone else and then she tells me she's sorry and that (low and behold) it is NOT gluten free. She starts to scramble and I ask to speak to a manager. The manager gets on the phone. He is very nice and apologetic, and obviously irritated that the girl has made this error. He offers to bring me, to my home, freshly made entrees with vegetables instead of the rice. I accept his gracious offer and he arrives in about 15 minutes with 2 entrees and the mushrooms. We have since returned for dinner and the food was, again, really delicious. Sometimes people make mistakes, and that's okay, it's how they handle them that make the big difference.

This food hit the spot! I went here at Thursday at 4pm with my Lebanese girlfriend. After moving from Los Angeles about a week ago we have been on the hunt for good ethnic food and we are so lucky to have found this spot. When we entered the restaurant and were unsure if it was open because there wasn't a customer there. We sat down and ordered from the surprisingly large menu. I got the hummus and chicken and she got the spinach and lamb. Both meals were fresh, delicious, and the portions were huge. We had the choice of soup or salad and we both decided on the lentil soup. This is one of the best meals I've had in Michigan so far and I look forward to bringing my friends. I would highly recommend it.

Picked up shish kabob for dinner, I thought was overpriced for the amount of food... An grilled veggies are extra.... Use groupon

Always been a huge fan of the Shelby Township location...have been going there for 7 years. I have been to the Rochester location a couple of times. Today I ordered the shish tawook sandwich combo and the chicken was extremely overlooked and dry. I had to add extra garlic sauce just to make the sandwich tolerable. I should have said something but just didn't feel like waiting for a new Sandwhich. If it happens again, I will definitely say something.

We ordered carryout on 3/22/14. First, we noticed that we were not given fresh bread. Instead, we were given store bought pita bread. When asked about the fresh bread, the owner seemed annoyed that we actually wanted fresh bread. When we got to the car, we thought that we did not have our soup, so we went back in. The owner insisted that the soup was in the bag. We checked and the soup was in there. Upon checking the size of the cup at home, we determined that the cup size was six oz. (most restaurants give 12 oz. for a cup size). We also ordered a fattoush tawook. There was half as much chicken on the salad as we get at our regular middle eastern restaurant. The flavor of the food was just ok, but it was a horrible value, and the owner was not very accommodating, so we will not be going back. We would recommend la marsa in Troy.

As an ethnic person that went there for some time now, I must say that Lebanese food can be a lot better. The use of dark chicken is horrible! Sandwiches lack taste, texture and it's often dry. Poor meat quality. Pita bread is just like the one that you buy from the store. And it tastes like yesterday's bread. It's a no!
